The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SIL) was established in 2008, as a development of the Department of Agricultural Engineering. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has a scientific mandate in the development of structural and infrastructure engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering and geomatics engineering. The scientific fields of the SIL Department are grouped into four (4) divisions, namely (1) Structural and Infrastructure Engineering, (2) Environmental Engineering, (3) Water Resources Engineering, and (4) Geomatics Engineering.
