The integrity of the schools is to be entrusted whenever they are inputting data into the School Students Database (Pangkalan Data Siswa Sekolah - PDSS). Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof.Dr.Ir.Yonny Koesmaryono, MS, in his presentation on “Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN) Tahun 2013 (the National Selection System for State University Admission for Year 2013)", he expected that teachers will do honestly when they are data inputting on the PDSS.

"I hope teachers and school principals will maintain its integrity in assessing their students. The integrity of the teacher and the school is really to be entrusted for data inputting in the PDSS. I hope their student’ scores won’t be marked-up, to be altered or maximized, "said Prof.Yonny.

Prof. Yonny informed the audiences that there are three systems for the Undergraduate Student Acceptance,  the National Selection for State-owned University (Seleksi Nasional Mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi Negeri - SNMPTN), the Joint Selection for State-owned University (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri - SBMPTN) and IPB-owned Selection  (Seleksi Mandiri IPB). "Students who are eligible for SNMPTN system are those whose schools are qualified to join the National Exam. SNMPTN system is free of charge. Whereas for SBMPTN the admission fees will be shouldered by applicants. For University-owned Selection, will depend  on the respective state-owned universities, they might be established by cooperation with local government, a written exam, based on the international and national achievement, "said Prof. Yonny.

Prof. Yonny also appealed to the school principals and teachers to change often the PIN and Password to access the PDSS. "Whenever you get the PIN and password to access  to the PDSS, kindly change them immediately. Keep them secret, thus, no one won’t be able to abuse the PDSS data, "he said. He told bad experience to the audiences when someone revealed PIN and password, then he abused the data, he changed the grades of a student into the unqualified level to be  best student, thus he was ileligible for SNMPTN.

Currently the consumption patterns of the Indonesian people is shift. "While rice is the staple food for Indonesian people, but presently they began to shift their consumption patterns. Today Indonesian consume more vegetables and fruits rather than wheat, "said Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc in the special event on "The  Socialization of New Student acceptance through SNMPTN 2013 and Technical Guide for Data Inputting for PDSS", on Sunday, 16 December 2012, at the CCR,  Darmaga Campus. The shifting consumption patterns has encouraged the increasing of fruits and vegetables importation. The value of imported fruit and vegetables for January-October 2011, was Rp. 17.61 trillion, while imported wheat was Rp. 17,26 trillion. This is an opportunity for businessmen to start holticultural business. In addition, many horticultural experts and specialists needed to create technologies that increase the holtocultural products.

“IPB is the most appropriate university for the application of university technology," said Rector. According to IPB Rector, IPB is one of the five state universities which are rated for A accreditation.
